I am having a problem very similar. My 1988 dodge dakota stalls at stops or just idling. This is the first time this has ever happened. I changed the plugs, fuel filter, and cap and rotor. It is still doing the same thing. Also when you take off in a gear it wants to stall seems somewhere gas is getting cut off. Anybody have any ideas?

i would check your fuel pressure regulator and the fuel pump. i had a similar problem with mine, changed the pump, regulator, and filter and it runs great.
