not sure if they all do it but todd is right i
bought one and quickly returned it. aside from the
sucking noise it felt like i lost some bottom end
almost liek it was hurting the truck. so it came
off immediatly. there are other post about this do
a search. i think most will agree to not waste the
money.

Rooknute,

What have you done to the truck so far? I mean, mod wise? I found that some of the best mods for MPG also hurt MPG (Darn lead foot), but I -definatly- recommend these since they gave great returns...

Cold Air intake with K&N Cone Filter
Autolite 3923 Plugs
Borg&Warner Cap/Rotor kit
9mm Plug Wires (8.5 would work too)

I also saw a mild MPG increase (when not on the gas) by relocating my IAT to the air intake tube, just behind the K&N. The TPS voltage mod helped a bit too, but not so much with MPG as the off-the-line stumble. The big surprise was when I ported my TB, it actually bosted my MPG under normal conditions. If you have a dremel and a lot of patience, thats a good mod, otherwise you can get one from speedtweaks.net (I'm thinking of getting one of those new APS Precision units myself)

Well, so far i have a air intake with k&n filter, autolight plugs, and 8.5 wires. I was going to do the IAT sensor move but dont know where to place it. I have all the wire and pipe plug. I've asked a couple people about where to put the sensor but so far no replys.

What is all involved with the voltage mod you mentioned. I was gonna look on speedtweaks but my server cant find their site?

Also, was the car and rotor a real inprovment, i've heard that you can get MPG from some people but then others say they cant tell.

Just this morning i checked my MPG and it equaled out to be 15.4 But i'm still a young gun with a heavy foot so that may have been lower than if i drove it right :) Thanks for the help!!

Are you trying speedtweaks.net or speedtweaks.com? It's speedtweaks.net :0)

I stuck mine directly behind the K&N, drilled and threaded a hole into the intake for it. Worked great. As for the Cap and Rotor, yeah, it definatly improved the idle quality. The stock rotor was kind of nasty by the time I got it off (23000 miles).

I'm getting about 21MPG out of mine, I'm going to be taking a trip this weekend so I'll recompute with the new exhaust (Flowmaster Delta40, dual out)

Scratch last, getting Flowmaster 40 replaced with Flowmaser 50... got pulled over today on the way to school. I was a -little- iffy on how loud it was myself, the cop however, wasn't. Only got out of a ticket by showing him the receipt. Thankfully the shop manager said we could swap, no problem. :0)

Here's hoping... the exhaust -did- make a large difference in butt-dyno results on my 5-speed :0)
