with a stock 96 dakota, how far can i lift the front end with out worrying about binding and tearing up the cv drives? i would like to just lift it with replacing the stock shocks with bilstein 5100 that are 6 in longer, if you can help out, rckid25@juno.com, thanks, Steve

Longer shocks will not lift the front end and will
be bottomed out and not work properly

There is a 3" lift kit avalible at a price of
$1500,

You need to change spindles and drop the front
pumkin assy and spacers in the rear.

The reason its so expensive is because of the
front independent suspention

so, larry, what is the pumkin assembly? could you give me some more help? i wanna 6 in lift and prob a 4 link out back. could i make something to use the shocks i want? this is my first truck and im only 17 so i dont know a lot in this area so any help will be appreciated from anyone. thanks, Steve
