Doesn't putting a larger engine in involve changing suspension components?I've heard the v8 daks have a stiffer front end.

Hey people
I don't want to get into a pissing match here ! I am not a motor head .I just purchased a 92 v6 Dakota last november.I traded a 1980 Elcamino for it even .
The truck has 115000 mi on it.I changed the timing chain and added the tensioner.New brass cap and Rotor,New wires.Colder Plugs.Colder stat 180*New Water Pump, Belts,Tensioner,Fan clutch ,All new hoses,2 Sensors that were broken off at the top of the manifold.Brakes and new tires all around. I Had the transmission serviced and adjusted and added a trans cooler.I tow a small boat ea summer. So far I like the truck alot more than I thought I would. I purchased it to save GAS!!!
Now for my questions The exhaust has started to leak !! I have been thinking of doing a custom exhaust. My brother inlaw owns a Shop .I see alot of conflicting comments about whats best in terms of exhaust for this rigg. I could care less about turning heads and a cool sound.I like to keep a low profile and not draw unneeded attention. If I was looking for that I would Still be running the Elcamino no insults intended .I need to improve fuel economy and not loose power. I am not trying to increase low end or top end horsepower Etc Etc !! I just want to save Money at the gas station and not loose any power.Chips Yes or no are they any advantage. Polished or V8 throtle bodies better gas mileage yes or no, Cold air or K&N filters and intakes yes no maybe.Just turn over the air filter top I have been told this has the same results yes or no .Please give your best advice to this newcomer to the Mopar Family .
Thank you in advance Andy M aka Andymanyankee

on the exhuast part dont go bigger then 2.5 inch pipe for the piping part.... bigger size means you'll loose bottom end torque and power.... for the muffler part the word around here is the 17748 dynomax muffler.... its not overly loud no high way drone but has a bit of horsepower and gas mileage improvement.... any type of high flow air filter wether its a cold air or drop in filter will improve to some degree.... a larger TB like a V8 swap over the V6 will help with power but not sure on gas mileage.... all these can or might help with getting better gas mileage but the true fix for better gas mileage is remove that extra weight from your right foot and yes it might be a killer but do slower speeds cause yes it will save ya gas....
