Why do U wanna do this? Well, for what ever reason.. Your rear brakes are not letting your tires spin. You probably have your foot mashed pretty hard on the whoa pedal to keep from rolling forward, or probably 'cause they are adjusted a tad tight. I would NOT suggest loosening them to allow you 'powerbrake'. Maybe your gear ratio is just not gonna let your 3.9 put the torque to the tires to spin 'em. Only guessing. My '01 will spin da meats,(3.55 gears) but that just means that the baloneys aren't gonna make the kinda milage they should. Now, if ya are at the drags on Sat. nite, doing 'the run what ya brung boogie',spinning the tires is not necesarily the ticket either.

if you really want to spin them
hold the break down, put it in Neutral,
stomp on the gas then shift into drive!
simple as that, but i dont reccomend doing it at all.in the long run youll be spending more that 4oo on a new pair of tires!

There was a time when i thought that power braking was cool, that is until i realized that tires wernt made of iron, and that it looks pretty dumb only spinning one tire. What a difference a posi-trac would make ;-)

95dak, I have 235/75/15's on the back and my 92 auto won't power brake anymore. It would leave a 50ft black mark with my old 215/75/15's. But since I spent $170 on two new rear tires I haven't worried that my truck wont turn them over. I already sound 40 and I'm only 17, man I need a nap.

Technically if your looking for speed it's good to not spin the tires, cause if the tires are spinning your not going anywhere. If you just want to show off and do burnouts for the girls working at mighty taco then thats different. Although it's not recommended because powerbraking is just about the most stress you can put on your truck, chances are you could damage or destroy u-joints, tranny/torque convertor, rear end, brake shoes, and you could warp the drums, not to mention wearing out the tires. Maybe you could put some money into the engine so you can just stop on it and spin them instead of using the brake?

well i think that we can all agree that if you have a 5 speed.... dump the clutch at 4 GRAND! you should be able to spend those tires/tire until it lights on fire. Try doing that in a auto... (with no nitrous)

yeah i dont know what wrong with u guys. my truck is really slow and weak, but it can still spin the tires. sometimes even on dry ground with no powerbarking. i can even beat a I4 ranger... but powerbraking is easy. so so slow

guess i need a new "pair" of autolites...intense

cool way to burn the tires is turning the wheel all the way to one direction and flooring it or flooring it around a corner.

anybody else ever take a corner at 50 mph with no brake in a 4x4 dak???(w/o dying) just wondering
