While i don;t have the money for either one right
now i am curious as to what everyone else thinks.
kinda like a pole of opinions, see what people
prefer. So Higher or Lower which way should i go??

Higher... you dont half to slow down as much for R R crossings, and its easyer to runover little Ricers.

Up to you, which do you prefer?? Also what do you do with your truck?? Do you use like a real truck and haul stuff with it, keep it up. If you dont haul much with it,put it down.

i have had mine both ways... and both ways are a lot of fun. BUT.... the reason i lowered mine was to improve handling and make it fast. And because i was tired of cleaning it after mudding.. BUT.... i missed mudding so bad i had to take it anyways

Lower:
Pros:better handling, looks cool, easier for short chicks to get in, chicks have to bend over to look in the window hehe.
Cons:drags sometimes, harder at drive-ins

Higher:
Pros:better ground clearence, looks meaner, you get to help short chicks in.
Cons:cornering sacrific, chicks don't have to bend over to look in.

Im leaving mine stock for now anyways.... got the 4x4 so high enough to look meaner then other vehicles but my wheels fit nicely inside the wells so it doesnt look out of place the only thing ill ever do to it is maybe a 3 inch drop or so... nothing major not dragging.... i like the ground clearence to run over things =]

i would lower it if it is 2wd or if its 4wd i would defiently raise it......both ways look good lower looks nicer but higher looks mean and you can go mudding which is alot of fun! but its what you prefer.

greengiant13 i think your truck would look awsome raised with 33's on it.....but would slow you down =(

In my opinion, lowered a little is nice.
Lowered to the ground (2in. clearance)? Wasteful.

Raised a little (3" body lift)? Nice.
Raised a lot (bumper is taller than the truck was stock)? Wasteful.

Not only does it cost a bunch to do it right either up or down, but it seriously affects vehicle stability and dynamics.

Unless you plan on going underneath semi-trailers, don't slam it excessively. Unless you plan on going over semi-trailers, don't raise it excessively.

I recently installed a set of Goodyear Wrangler RT/S from a Durango on my stock 15x7 wheels -- they give the truck a meaner look, raise it about 1 1/2 inches, and fill out the wheel wells nicely without scrubbing. Just my two cents worth --

I've tinkered with the idea of raising it for the prerunner look as well as lowering it just a little. I think I've decided that I'm going to leave it stock. I guess when I see lowered trucks, I think they're "sports trucks." I kind of like the beefy, "muscle truck" look. Tall enough for decent ground clearance and low enough for decent handling. I parked next to an R/T and noticed that they sit about an inch or so lower. I think that'd be as low as I'd go.

N8, i am thinking of giving it the look of an old musle car, little higher in the back. I have always liked the look but i dont know how it would look on my DAK. I have time to think it over. what do you think?

problem of raising the back a bit is traction

less weight over the back= more tyre spinning

lower. or bag it like i did mine. with bags you get awsome ride quality and enough lift not to worry about bottoming out. and you can still put stuff in bed and tow with it.....i body dropped mine and still tow some stuff....lol......l8r

I recently went thru the same thing. I will lower mine because lowering is cheaper than lifting, handles better, truck is lighter therefore faster & better mileage, no gear changes or PCM reprogramming to correct the speedo, etc. I'm going with the muscle truck look as opposed to the Euro style that is all the rage now as I don't think the Daks broad shoulders & agressive stylng fit with the euro style. That being said I've seen some that look pretty good with the Euro style.
On the other hand, a tall Dak with gnarly mud tires is an awesome sight...

from reading all of your responses and talking to
some of my buddies at work i think i'm gonna stay
with the muscle truck look. jsut drop her a few
inches and drop some nice big rims on. i love
mudding but being 2wd does occasionally cause some
problems. my neighbor is selling his old F150 for
real cheap so i think i'll but that and make it my
mud truck. now its all a matter of pickin out some
nice rims. thanks again

Pro: you can see down girls shirts, who needs them to bend over.

I agree with the muscle over euro for dropped. Otherwise, don't worry you've got a dak, they look sweet sitting 1/2" off the ground or 6 ft off the ground.
