Having an issue with my electrical system shorting out. 170K miles and this is a new thing. Not rain or moisture related, but gauges drop to zero, truck goes in to limp mode and all warning lights come on at once, including "no bus" after about a minute or so of driving. I've had alternator replaced and ignition switch (in the last 6 months) and mechanic says the short will need to be located by taking it all apart. Lots of hours of labor with no guaranteed result. Any thoughts? Thanks!
