I have a 2000 Dakote Sport 2WD with 64,000 original miles that has provided me with excellent service since I purchased it

My problem is that the other day I was stopped at a traffic light when the car in front of me started to go, so I let off of the brake and started drifting forward when the front car decided to stop again.

I reapplied my brakes which went completely to the floor fortunately traffic started moving and I was able to pull into the first driveway. I got out and checked the fluid level in the master cyl., checked under the truck for leaks and nothing.

Got back in the truck and the brakes were fine, been driving it ever since.

Any idea what might have caused it?

Thanks for reading
