My 88 Dakota was dying in gear when brake was on, die in reverse, idle up in neutral and smelled like running rich in park.
Changed IAC today and the dying has ceased, but the engine still idles rough when in gear at stop, also has a hesitation when you begin to accelerate.
Adding to the concern, I just had an issue where it would not start, jumped it off and it started fine. I have stopped it several times and started it since and seems to be fine now. Any suggestions,
