I have a 03 v6 Dakota drove the truck to work this morning
everything was fine, drove it home fine. My wife went to take it
to the store and she comes in and said that your truck starts
and then dies. So I go out and try to start it with my foot on the
gas and still it would crank turn over for a second and die and
then it wouldn't turnover at all. I got some starting fluid and
gave it a few shots and it started for a second again and died.
So I pretty sure it's fuel related but I don't know how to narrow
it down

Very possible a crank positon sensor.. If the pcm don't see a signal it will shut off the ASD relay .

Also Check ignition coil for seperated core layers.. They are a noted problem too.
