 Subject: 88 3.9 2 wheel drive.

My parents have a 88 Dakota. They changed the fuel pump. Still
didnt fix it. I went over there and figured the pump was doa.it would
stzrt but not very easy. Checksx tbe injector spray pattern and they
were spaying straight down on the butterflys. Figured the new
pump was faulty. Took it in for an exchange, installed the new
pump and ran great for 2 days. Checked the injector spray and its
spraying on the butterflies again. So i think something is shorting
the pump out. Anyone have any ideas what i could check. Thanks
for any help.

check the wire plug that goes to the fuel pump. i had this problem on a 92 dakota and found out the plug was worn out so i replaced it with a new one and it worked fine
