 Subject: Weird sound????

I have a 1999 Dak with V6 in it and it makes this
weird click sound when accelerating and can be
faintly heard when idling. I replaced the
distributor , wires and plugs about 2 years ago. I'm
thinking it might be out of time slightly. Let me
know what you think. Thanks Guys.

You have to narrow it down, Try and locate the area
where it is coming from. It could be 1001 things.

It is definitely in engine bay but not the pulley side

If you can hear it at an idle it is not the timing which is controlled by the PCM anyway. To me, it sounds like an exhaust leak. Probably a broken exhaust manifold stud/bolt.
