about a year ago i replaced the front shocks on my 2002 dodge dakota 2wd v6. I replaced the OEM shocks with monroe sensa-tracs. and presently the shocks are caput. has anyone else had any experiences with these shocks? anyone have any suggestions for new shocks?

I've got about 90k on some Monroe Reflex front shocks on my '00 QC 4x2 and it still rides better than it did when I bought it with 19k on it and the original shocks.

One of my original shocks blew out at about 23k miles. No seeping fluid or anything. Just one day saw oil dripping from it after I noticed the ride quality had changed somewhat.

I had a pair of Gabriel Ultra shocks fail after 4 years and 65K miles. The casing just rusted away and crumbled, exposing the innards of the shock. Never seen a failure like that before. Road salt eats some of these shocks.

so i called monroe today, the customer service tech told me that monroe released a new version of these sensa trac shocks with a 5/8" rod instead of the 1/2" rod that i have. so if you have 37137 part no. you should warranty them and get new ones
