Subject: Trans shift kit

I have a 1993, v6, A500 automatic trani, with almost 160,000.

The band for first gear is starting to wear out as I can feel it when I take off from a complete stop a lot of the time. I've heard that a shift kit can help. I know a shift kit isn't a guaranteed fixed, but it's worth a try I think.

My question is how hard is it to install a skift kit into the A500 trani? I've heard that you don't have to take the trani out. The only experience with tranis I have is changing the filter and fluid.

And I changed the fluid about a month or two ago and dumped two bottles of lucas trani honey in it along with the correct trani fluid too. It helped a little bit but it's still not good.

Also, who are some of the good names of shift kits?

Sincerely,

Steven
