I have a 1994 Dodge Dakota v6 2wd. The cruise control and horn doesn't work, so I'm guessing it is the clockspring that needs replaced. This is a dealer only part and it is 300, and i've found one online for 215. That's almost as much as I payed for the truck. Im wondering if I can wire the switches for cruise control, somewhere like the dash or something. I know I can't just straight wire to the steering wheel, because it would cause the cord to bind, which is why there is a clockspring. I just need the wiring info, or maybe a way to wire the cruise control up off the steering wheel. Like could I splice into the wires at the Cruise Control sensor in the engine bay, or find the wires under the dash???

If I could just find the switch wires, under the dash before they go into the clockspring, I could just wire into those. Anyone know what wires it would be, or have a wiring diagram of the harness under the steering wheel.

Nevermind, I found a pdf with every wiring diagram on rapidshare. For future reference, if someone else has the same problem.
wiring before clockspring - After clock spring
WHT/RED - DK BLUE/WHT = OFF switch
YEL/RED - YEL/RED = ON Switch
BRN/RED - BRN/RED = Set/Coast
WHT/LT GRN - WHT = Rusume/ACC

Just drive the truck, ninety percent of people don't use the cruise control.
Oh, I see your one of those people that set there cruise control for exactly 55mph and hang on too the steering wheel with both hands!
