Subject: Truck won't start

Message:
I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota V6. My son took the dashboard off and now the truck won't start. It has a security feature that looks like it is not connected right. I cannot figure out how it is supposed to be connected. I noticed a spark when he put the dashboard back on. What should we look for? We have locked and unlocked the doors with the key remote and it works, but it just won't start. Please help

Noticed a spark --check fuses in fuse box and fuses in the engine compartment too.

Could have gotten the yellow and gray connecters mixed up
just below the steering wheel, they are connected to a metal
plate, also there is a white box with a screw in the middle by
the parking brake that has two connectors on the side.

Thanks for the info, glad I wrote in. I had checked the fuses inside but not the ones in the engine. I found the fuse to the ignition switch to be burned out. I replaced it, put the dashboard in place gave it a little gas and Voila! it started. So glad it was something simple. I was hoping it wasn't the wires because I'm not that good with electrical stuff. Thanks again

Kris, that's why repair manuals tell you to "Disconnect the Battery first" That way you don't have to worry about screwing up the electrical system. Anyway, I am glad it was only a fuse.
Good Luck

LOL If my son would tell me when he is going to be messing with his truck I could help him. He doesn't believe in reading anything. LOL
