Subject: v6 manual transmission problem

i have a 1998 Dakota. i mainly use it for just
buying materials for home repairs. but i have a
problem and i dont know how to fix it. when first
driving the truck, the truck can shift fine (this
is a 5 speed manual trans) but after a while it
gets warm and its very hard to get it from neutral
and into gear. i live in the north east and it
happens in the winter and summer and only after
driving it for a little while. some times it
doesn't do it for over a half an hour. but it its
not something that happens right away under any
weather condition.

now, some background:
the clutch went bad a few years ago so i a
mechanic replace that and my transmission was bad
also, i forget exactly what the reason was, so it
was replaced with a used one from a salvage yard.
after that was done, the shift problem was real
bad. right off the start. so the work was still
under warranty and the technician got me another
used trans and that is the one i have. its good in
the beginning, but it eventually does it after a
while and if i leave the truck alone for a long
while and drive it again, its fine.

now i want to spend some money on it because it
needs some minor work, but i dont want to spend
too much if this is unrepairable.

has anyone encountered such an issue? and anyone
have any ideas what i can try to fix it?

thanks in advanced for the help.
