 Subject: 92 tranny problem

My 92 auuto tranny has forward gears no reverse, even in nuetral it goes forward when i shift into reverse it acts like nuetral and in park it tries to lunge forward. I changed filter fluids put in tranny conditioner its still acts this way any ideas. Time to rebuild or swap out and does it take a lot of work to get these trannies out? I was told like 8 hours and you have to drop the front axle does this sound right? Any and all suggestions/ideas appreciated Thanks!!

Sounds like possible linkage to loose ?
If it moves in 'Park' then linkage is loose
or otherwise not working properly..
