 Subject: 3.9L weird problem

I have a 92 dakota that will start and idle just fine for about 3 minutes and then will cut clean and die. fuel pump can be heard shutting off once it dies. It can be restarted only if the throttle is petaled. will not rev above 2k missing and back firing the whole time. Ive gone through the splices and repaired ? ones. problem has progressed used to mis under hevy load then started to under mild load and now it will start run for a bit and die then will bearly restart without throttle imput

How are the plugs and wiring ?
Possible coil shorting out on the high voltage .

Check fuel pressure.
A guy here at work had the same problem last week.
Ran perfect at times, other times it ran rough and wouldn't idle.
Turned out to be a fuel pump headed south.
Again, check for fault codes.
