Subject: P0113, (IAT high input) question
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a code on my '98 Dak 4x4 that reads P0113, which is "IAT high input". The Haynes manual page 6-12 says to test the connector to the IAT with the ignition "on" and you should have "approximately 5.0 volts". Well, I have 5.22 volts DC, is that too high?
I am going to remove the IAT in the morning and check the resistance while immersing the sensor portion in hot water and then cool water before I spend $45. for a new one.
Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The sensor turned out to work fine after I cleaned the terminals. They were lightly coated in that powdery, white crap. After cleaning I applied di-electric grease and re-assembled. The "check engine" light went off after driving about 20 miles and I was able to pass my emissions test.
