I 2002 Dodge Dakota Sport. My Brakes are acting up at first. If it has rained or is very damp out, one of my brakes grabs way more than the others. Once I've pumped them a few times and drive around they seem okay. Any ideas of what could be causing it.

It is a 4*4. My front rotors aren't that old, but my back might be, original. We purchased it in 2004, and it is a 2002, and I haven't had the back ones done. They were checked, back awhile, and said they were stiil good. So far, it only seems to happen when it is wet, or damp, but after using them a few times there good.

My '00 QC 4x2 w/ RWABS does that once in a great while. The exact same symptoms, when very humid or raining and first stop of the morning. It's done it since I bought it in Jan. '03 w/ 19k on it. Now @ 110k, still does it and haven't even looked at the rear drums. I think nothing of it.

my 02 dak does do the same thing. it will have extended periods of set time. I dont know if i would worry about it unless it continues during normal operation. especially watch for shaking during braking. even tho your back brakes are said to be good its always best to change the old equipment out. Preventative maintenance is the key to keeping these trucks operating correctly.

Ok. Thanks a bunch people. I'll keep tabs on them, but probably look at them in the near future.

Does your '02 have rear discs? I forgot if it was '02 or '03 when they changed that.

No it doesn't. My son had a 03, and it had front and rear disc brakes. Them maybe someone special ordered it that way?
