Hello
after doing a little research I think i'll go with the flowmaster 50 delta for my 2000 3.9l truck. I just want to replace the muffler not the whole system. My question is, can I do this myself or I need to have a muffler shop do it? Also do any of you know which 50 series muffler I need for my truck?
Thanks
Jason

If you can handle a sawzall and a few wrenches you should be able to handle it . I put a DynoMax on my 01 (700 miles) only took me about an hour after I figured out I couldn't save the factory muffler, That's the sawzall part just cut the factory one off right next to end of the muffler then take a chisel to the pieces left on the ends of the pipe. Just make sure that you get the right in/out for your truck, my 01 muffler was offset 2.5" in and center 2.5" out ( I think yours should be the same but you might check) the factory muffler is about 28" long, my DynoMax was 18" I had to add a 11" piece of 2.5" you can get this at Autozone or auto parts store just look for a piece of straight tailpipe 2.5"in - 2.5" out it will be about 18-20" long cut to length you need.

I also put a K&N FIPK on the next night made a big difference in my 3.9

I have photos to e-mail if anyone would like
