There are a few ways to do this

dealer drb scanner, snapon MT2500 scanner at
around $5,000good

An ohm meter and go back and forth and watch for
a volt change but always take the readin when
moving towards the plus side this method is not
very acurate and you can be off +4 degrees real
easy

The easiest and most acurate is the way I explaned
it I have done it hundreds of times and than
checked with the MT2500 and was always within
1 or 2 degree's but one day I was using the
snapon on a car on the front end rack set it on
the rail and backed the car over it LOL oh well
there went 5 grand they wanted $4000 to rebuild it
so I don't have one anymore LOL

The deaers are not alowed to set the sync past
0 but they run better between +3 +6 with a hotter
cam you start out at +6 where I have mine now
better throttle response smother idle and better
mileage is the resault of setting on the plus side

THANKS LARRY, DIDNT MEAN THAT YOUR WAY DIDNT WORK AS I DID IT QUITE A WHILE AGO BUT WAS THINKING THAT I COULD GET IT A LITTLE BETTER. RAN SEA FOAM THRU AND SEEMED TO CURE IT. THE TRUCK HAS 196,000 ON IT AND HAS NEVER BEEN APART. RUNS STRONG FOR THE MILES.
