Subject: catalytic converter, do I need it?
IP: Logged

Message:
My truck is 95..and is no longer on the emissions list. So therefore, I don't need it as far as passing inspections go.....

But I was wondering if there were ANY positive, or negative consequences for taking the CAT off all together?

Thanks.

Negative - Contributing more than your fair share of pollution to the atmosphere. Even if you are not subject emissions inspections it is still approximately a $25K fine if you happen to get caught.

Positive - Nothing, especially if it's still functioning properly. If you doubt that it is, replace it with an aftermarket unit that flows better and will still be kind to the enviroment.
