You are right, it is a dog.

My 94 was faster than that in the 1/8 almost stock.

You must have something wrong.

You ever do a compression check?

I just looked back up at your post, you know you do have ALOT of weight, you only have a V6 my friend and in that you dont have enough torque to get alot of weight moving.
Take all your tools out and pop the cap off and try again.

Can you even spin the tires? I'm guessing not and if not you definantly have to much weight because a V6 with 4.10's should roast a or both tires.

its an 01 with all the gear it weigts 3956lbs on a CAT scale. RC w/auto. it spins the tires for anmost 9 feet. I just put a magna flow on and it pushes more around 3300 to 4800 if I hold it (didnt at the track) to 5200 much better.

my truck ran a 16.36@81 at the track back in march......it was also around 40 degrees that day.

i have a 97' RC auto with 3.55, underdrive pulleys, airraid intake, flowmasters single in dual out, and installed now but not at track V8 TB, and 180 thermo

my truck i am expecting to run high 15's with the TB installed and am going to try to save my money for the Venom 400 module.

Sounds like a work truck?
Why do you have 4.10's, did you have em installed?

If its a stock rear you dont have 4.10's.

BTW, whats a "CAT scale"? never heard of that.

Hey Fazdak, I have a 92, RC, LB, HD, auto, 3.92's(I think). It has a class 3 hich. My mods are IAT relocation, 3" flowmaster exhaust, and I removed that plastic flap in front of the air intake. Should my truck be able to squeal tires? Because it won't, not without some power braking.

Montag, as stated many times on this site, all Daks ar different.

Some are faster than others with same mods or none.

I am assuming "LB" means long bed? if so you have more weight over the rear wheels than us RC'ers and it would make it harder to break the tires loose.

Also, if you really do have 3.92's you probably have limited slip which makes it even harder to spin em because its locking up both tires, good for racing but bad when comparing to other Daks that can spin tires. ;-D

Hope this helped, Scott

Yes LB is long bed. It doesn't have LSD, it will only leave one black mark. About the 3.92's, the tag under the hood says "axle ratio 3.9", the tag on my diff says 3.9 also. I asume that means I have 3.92's or somthing close to that?

I bought an 87 Dakota with a carburated 3.9 V6 a year ago for a hundred bucks because the last owner couldn't get it to run. It was a simple pickup coil for ten bucks. Other than that I've swapped the exhaust for a Camaro Z28 exhaust, pulled off the plastic flap in front of the air pickup tube, removed the pollution control pump belt, and threw on some 275/55/15 GT Qualifier tires. From a dead stop I can spin the tires up to fifth gear.
Some time next week I'm buying an adapter plate for my intake to bolt on a 750 Holley. Right now I run the quarter mile around sixteen and I can't wait to see if the holley shaves some more time off.

It pulls better w/4.10. It had a 3.55 and no low end torque. It is also a pegleg. At 70-75mph the rpms are still under 2500. The rear end was trashed in the 2000 flood of houston. The Cat scale is a state approved scale for 18 wheelers (my job). The company of CAT will refund your money if there incorrect. There found at most truck stops and only cost 7.50$ US. I'm going to try the jba next

HINT:the better the driver the faster the times!
You know youre fast at shifting when you can take it to 4500 rpm, keep the gas to the floor while shifting, and not letting the truck redline, may sound hard but it is no sweat for me.
