 Subject: 92 4x4 Ball Joint Tool??

last year i changed my upper ball joints on my 92 dakota (4x4)
and now the lowers need to be replaced....just wonderful!!
I made myself that tool C3562A to seperate the upper ball joint
from the knuckle. it worked very well.
the lower ball joints are not so easy according to my service
manual....
i understand that the torsion bars will have to be lowered,
(shocks, axleshafts removed etc....)
what im not crazy about is removing the complete lower table
assembly. all the torsion bars things and brackets etc....
(im getting old boys!!)
anyone know of a tool (besides a 500 ton press) that can remove
the lower ball joint with the lower table still in place??
a super tool??

Check with your auto parts for a loaner tool program.. Ball joint Press, basically a C clamp with different sized adapter to remove and reinstall lower ball joints. Just did mine on my 98 Dak 4wd, although I did Uppers and Lowers at the same time along with Tie Rod Ends, rotors and brakes... I had the steering knuckle off when I did mine, but if you pop the lower joint out of the knuckle you might be able to swing it far enough away to get to the lower without pulling the A frame...
