Code 12: Memory Standby Power Loss

This code is set in the PCM when the battery is reconnected.

Try cleaning the battery terminals (you can buy a terminal cleaner for about $10) and make sure there is no loose connections. This should solve your problem unless while you were trouble shooting you disconnected the battery and thus loosing the code, so you'll have to wait until the PCM throws a code again... if any.

Hope that helps!

Two possibilies , first the 'splice' of 3 or 4 wires in the harness under the (underhood)
fuse/relay box = about 6 to 8 inches down the harness = need to unwrap the tape until you find it , redo that splice .

Second - possible coil is going bad
may need to replace - but do # 1 above first..

Maybe your battery is a POS. Did you have it load-tested? A bad battery, or bad alternator, can cause code 12 and shutdown.

Try another coil first..
It probably shorts out after warming up a bit .
Leaving it sit for five minutes lets it cool down
and disburse the 'ozone' .
This happened on my 95 , took a while for me to figure it out - I thought the computer at first too , got another - seemed ok for a week
then same problems..
