okay so today i went to pull away from a stop and i had NOOOOOO torque. so i pulled into a parking lot stopped then mashed it. barely moved. tryed it in reverse, nothing when normally it will spin. something just quit. my question is what? it will pick up speed but not until the truck gets moving and into higher rpms, like 3000. any help is appreciated.

first and foremost, check for codes. and a little more info on your truck would help.

No codes, and its a 97, 3.9, 4x4. reg cab. i dont think the whole trans is shot because it still goes in gear fine, and shifts fine. it just has no low end and this literally happend instantly.

sometimes they just fail. sometimes from overworking them. like maybe pulling a F350 4x4 King Ranch from a field?

yes it was pretty funny. especially when you throw in the fact it was a "power"stroke. more like a peckerstroke. Does anyone know how to tell what trans i have in my truck? both trans options came with 14-bolt pan and the only tag i found looked like a barcode and had like 20 numbers on it?? the two options was a A-500 and i cant remember the other. any way to tell??
