I bought my 95 4x4 dec 1994 the fall of 1997
the org batt when it droped into the 30's would
not even crank my truck over that is the shortest
batt life I have ever had on any vehicle

So I went to sears and the guy tryed to sell me
this tiny batt I said no I want that one over
there he says its not listed for your truck I said
I don't care thats the one I want

A gould die hard 1000 amp, This batt is 11 years
old now and still cranks my truck and starts in
30 below weather I just started it 2 days ago
after the truck sat for 3 weeks and it was 20
below.

Now I have never had a batt last that long the
1 cell pos end I always have to add a little
distilled water every summer

That is one hell of a battery

I have always ran the die hard batt's than around
1978 I bought 2 that were junk and did not use
them again untill I bought this one in 97 for
a few years there they were crap

I am amazed how this one is holding up

My father had a secluded house on a privite lake
and used a twin cyl wisconsin 5000 wat gen he
had a big remy like 3 times the size of a car
batt and it started that gen for 21 years that
is the longest I have ever seen a batt last

Actualy we still have the place and the same gen
but with a new THD wisconsin motor the org motor
ran 25 years on LP gas 1000 gal tank and would run
15 hours a day for a year on 1 tank he moved
there when he retiered in 1972 back than LP was
10 to 12 cents a gal

The last LP I bought last year was 2.69 a gal
but I only use 200 gal a year cook stove and
hot water my house is heated with wood for the
last 28 years I designed and built the wood
system myself at 30 below I have it 75 80 in
the house and fill it only twice a day

I don't know why the insurance companies are so
against using wood stoves they save a person
a lot of money I pay a guy $400 a year to cut
the wood and fill the basement. It holds enough
for the whole winter

If you live in cold weather you need a battery with the highest CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) you can get. The cold weather really reduces the energy out of a battery. I just wonder what kind of mileage you would get in a Toyota Prius in the -25 degree weather. I bet it would reduce it quite a bit.
