Subject: Code 32 Help

Message:
Hi I have a 93 V6,lately my check engine light has been coming on for a code 32 "EGR System Failure" "An open or shorted condition detected in the EGR solenoid circuit." I have removed the wireing harness from the computer and checked ohms on both the gray with a yellow stripe to the EET and the blue wire that is fused with several other blue wires, both had little resistance around .2 ohms. I have replaced the EGR valve ass. and reset the computer but the code continues to come back. If any one has any ideas as to what is causing this it would be very help full.
Thanks
Adam

Sometimes the EGR passage is clogged and needs to be cleaned out with a stiff wire. If the EGR valve is actuated by the computer and there is no change in the mixture sensed, it will trip a code 32.

OK here's the update. I removed the EGR valve and tube and cleaned with compressed and could feel air coming through the intake and tube. I reinstalled the tube and test drove and the code came back up! If the oxygen sensor was getting lazy and not sensing the change could that cause it? I am stumped and other help would be appreciated.
Thanks for all the help
Adam

OK iv been ohming the 2 wires to wires to round adn found that the grey wire with the yellow stripe has 82.5ohms and the blue wire has 4.9 ohms to ground until i remove the harness from the computer than it goes to O.L im wondering what wire should be power and what one should be ground? or if the computer isnt going bad?

Check all vacuum lines. A broken or disconnected vacuum line can cause that code.

sorry about all the posts, im typing in as i fand stuff but the blue wire that goes into the wireing harness splice that goes to the 9 pin connector has 12 volts power and when i touch it to the other blue wires it turns on the fuel pump but it also has 1.2ohms of resistance on the ground side. is there a known slice some where that causes this im stumped. Thanks again adam

Flow test

run a vac line fron the actual valve acuator
let idle now just suck hard on the vac line and
the motor should slow or even die

if that is ok test vac at elect valve
should slowly raise as engine is reved

if this is all ok replace the egr valve and transducer as a set

they usualy go bad around 90 to 100,000 miles
