i replaced my pads and rotors about 6 months ago. replaced the rotors with the autozone valuecraft rotors (about $32 a piece) and advance auto bendix pads (about $55). this truck just keeps chewing up rotors, i've replaced them again, and the pads with exactly the same thing. They last so long and then i get terrible pulsation like the rotors were warped when i brake. I replace both rotors and brake pads and it's good for about another 4-5 months and then right back to the same thing. The rotors look like someone took a rake over them. they are shiny but have deep grooves in them, what the hell!!! I've yet to determing if the rotors are crappy brand and too soft or if it's the bendix pads. the calipers have been replaced already. anyone care to elaborate? Also, anyone tried the autozone brand pads? Any good?

are you "bedding in" these pads when you change them? i have the original rotors on my '00 QC with 94k miles. i changed the pads the first time at about 80k miles. no pulsing and they stop great. i used the wagner from o'reilly i think.

i know there are better articles about brakes out there but this one describes the "bedding in" procedure.

He did change rotors.

But Valuecrap is just that. Go with Bendix (made in Canada) at Advance Auto. No problems, put 100K on a set on my car. Cheap Chinese rotors have very thin areas for the heat treatment, so once you cut through the hardened surface, it's like putty underneath.

I kind of thought it was the rotors myself also. At the time, Bendix did not have anything listed for my truck, nor did the salesperson pull anything up for Bendix. I'm not buying anymore valuecraft rotors for any of my vehicles!

If the rotors are not dug up then get them turned down. Factory rotors last quite awhile
