Subject: loose ends with new rear install

i know i bled the brakes right, but since i put the new rear in, the pedal feels spongy ans hell. theres some pressure at stopping power at first where it should be, but to actually some to a stop, i have to push down another 3-5 inches. the new rear has 11"drums as opposed to the 9's i had before. could the master cylinder not be enough to handle the bigger drums, or possibly a bad wheel cylinder? they dont leak... also, the dummy shift light comes on even when im in 5th gear, i dont rememer if i used the old speed sensor or the one that came in the rear, but i have both could that be it? i dont use it but it annoys the crap outta me. any help would be great

make sure the rear shoes are adjusted properly. when you bled the brakes you should have started at the rear passenger side wheel. while you were bleeding the brakes did you let the master cylinder run to low on fluid? if you did, you can bleed the master cylinder now.

yea i started farthest away and moved to the left. the shoes had a little surface rust so i just did a quick okey dokey job with the star wheel until they clean up some. i was thinking of just doing a full brake flush so i will see if that helps any. i did a pump bleed anyway so next time ill grav bleed em and see what happens.thanks a lot and if anyone has any idea how to get that damn dummy light to work properly im all ears lol.
