I'll be gettin my dak in June, can't wait!

I'm wonderin, with the stock 97+ v6 auto, what mileage can I expect?

I can't go with 5spd, this will be my competition car for car audio and I need the space down there so I can build kick panels big enough..

What will I be lookin at, mainly on highway miles?

I have a 97 club cab V6 Automatic, and when it was stock it got 14-15mpg city or highway, with about $1000.00 worth of mods it's up to 19 city 21-22 highway.

Waltherone, I am running a 3 inch custom exhaust from the collectors back, with a hi flow cat and magnaflow muffler. Ported my own throttle body, did the tps adjustment and adjusted my TV cable. Got rid of my entire air intake and replaced it with a 10 inch round edlebrock air cleaner and K&N filter, autolite 3923 spark plugs, 180 degree thermostat FMS 19 lb fuel injectors. I replaced the clutch fan with a Flexalite black magic 150, installed the two pulley set from truck performance center, replaced my coil and plug wires. I have 95000 miles on my truck and it runs like a champ. To save you a bunch of money, the electric fan and pulley set made the biggest improvement in my economy (about 3 mpg).Just a note on the fuel economy, if your truck has an overhead console with mpg display, don't trust it, mine is off by precisely 3mpg make sure to check it the old fashioned way. The air filter and throttle body mod gave me my most noticeable increase in low end power, and my exhaust got rid of a nasty little mid range power lag. My mid range power is awesome now, it doesn't come off the line smokin tires but it hits about 2200 rpms and just presses you back in your seat, surprises alot of people who take me off the line in a race, just to see the back end of my truck fly by them about two seconds later. It's actually more fun that way! Hope the info helps, and congratulations on buying a Dakota!

I haven't gotten it yet :)

I will in June. Income tax came today. I'm right on track with my budget planned, so mid June I should have it.

Just for fun if yall wanna see the one I'm lookin at it is at

http://www1.getauto.com/search/car_detail.cfm?cvin=1B7GL22X5XS175094&dealer_id=AADei

I'm just hoping I can get them down in price...that's a lotta miles for a 99 (Well, comapred to how many miles I put on it's a lot...maybe I just don't drive enough?) BUt I think I can get them to at least 10. I'm relying on that too. I need it as low as possible to keep my audio budget high cuz I went WAY over budget when planning the audi (almost doubled my budget :( )

Thanks guys. Believe me, I will still be here when I finally get the truck so I can *TRULY* join this world :D

Yeah, don't mind LI Blackdak, he's just upset because he didn't test drive his truck before he bought it and really expected the V6 to make the heavier and more driveline inefficent CC 4x4 truck move as good as it does the lighter 2x4. :0)

Yeah I've heard reference to your bitching about your truck and wanting a 3.2CL (if I remember correctly) which I would love to have too :)
