this tranny had always been a little bit noisy even from brand new. my old s10 was like that too which stand to reason since they both use the nv3500 tranny. theres a lot of slap in between gears if you let the clutch out too fast between shifting, i guess it's the throw out bearing.

Just tonight i'm starting to hear kind of like a whining/gear noise when i accelerate. I know the truck is up there in mileage and the clutch is still factory and i've changed the trans fluid one time back around 75,000 and put syncromesh in. It's what GM uses in there nv3500's and it's cheaper but now i wonder if there really is something better about the mopar nv3500 fluid that cost more.

anyways, is the noise normal with these tranny's at this kind of mileage. I have no leaks so the fluid level should be the same as when i put it in. I just bought a house and i'm so super paranoid about something breaking down on the truck cause i can't afford to fix it now if it's something major.

i don't have the manual but i would like to put out there that i recommend that you make sure to change your tranny fluid atleast once a year. It sounds alot like accelerated wear and tear possibly due to the fact your fluid (if old) it molecular structure has broken down, causing this ultimately. Amsoil is a product you might want to look at on the web in the near future. I haven't been able to find people who sell except the web, but its properties are among the best of oils, but its your choice. i don't know a whole lot, but have you thought about yor clutch, most vehicle's clutches tend to only last anywhere from 4 to 8 years unless you know for a fact that your wear is minimal. i would also try not to tow anything big until you got a good amount of money saved for a tranny rebuild, you know incase the worst happens.

Try using some good synthetic fluid

The mopar fluid is a blend of syn and reg

We also use the moly additive in the manual
transmissions the additive will make them quiter
and shift easier
