 Subject: My 5.2 swap comes on Monday

My 5.2 engine is going to arrive on Monday. It is from a 1999 dakota, going into a 2002 3.9 v6 5speed 4x4 Dakota.
It does not have any accessories, but mine will swap right over I think.
All I need is:
New ECU
New wiring harness (or add injectors)
Use my v6 flywheel
Everything else should bolt right up correct?

My rear end has nothing to do with fitting...My tranny will match up just fine and my rear-end will hold up for the v8 torque, it's not that much more.
What will not fit?

I wish somebody could just read my original post and give me some input. I would like to make sure I will have no problems.
My rearend was replaced in November and has about 3,000 or less miles on it. Same with the tranny and 4x4 unit.

joe you have to use a 5.2 flywheel your spark timing comes off the flywheel a 6cyl flywheel will only fire 6 times insted of 8 times, good luck!

There are some real knuckle heads around here
There is a reluctor wheel behind the flex plate
or fly wheel it is not on the flex or fly be sure
you get it with your V8 and the computer should
come with the motor if not you will most likly
just need to get the vin and mileage flashed most
charge $75 to $100 for that
You will not need the entire wire harnas either
just add the #7 and #8 injector driver wires to
your exsisting harnas
The other side of the injector is ASD volts or
batt volts on off with key for that just tap
the ASD wire on the injector right next to it
on both sides
for the 2 pins you need to add to the comp plug
eithere a junk yard or you can just buy 2 new
comp pins fron chrysler
A $20 haynes manual so you know which # pin for
drivers, if you take like a ling safty pin or
stick pin or sowing needle go in from the back
side and push the little clip they come right out
from the back of plug
And yes all else is the same and will bolt right
up, even the exhaust but I would use a 318 y pipe
its bigger but the V6 one will also bolt right
to the 318 or 360's exhaust manifold
Like I say the knuckle heads here I think they are
just julious over others and try to give every
one a hard time just egnore them
Also the gas mileage will be the same or in a lot
of cases even better
Just be sure all your sensors are upto snuff
That is why I say a digital voltmeter you can
check every sensor on the truck for just like $40
or its wise to spend the $200 and get an
auto Xray scanner for your truck just one trip to
a dealer is the samr cost most are $100 just to
hook your truck up than parts and labor just
one avoided trip to a dealer and your scanner
has paid for itself
With a scanner you can watch every sensor from a
cold strt to operating temp which most dealers do
not do and you can supper tune your own vehicle
That is a big thing I find with people who bring
there trucks to me with running and drivability
problems the dealer looks at the sensors at op
temp never thinking that there may be a glitch
between cold and operating temps and never solving
the problem and telling the customers that its
normal, Thats bunk but it happens all the time
I now have the local chrysler garage calling my
shop when they run into this stuff and sending
the vehicles over to me to figure out and most
times they send the tech with the car so they
can learn how to find and fix these probs
This works out well the dealer can than charge the
factory for the traning there techs get from me
a win win situation for everyone this has been
going on now for about the last 8 years with the
local dealer
This came about after many brought there trucks
to me after the dealer could not solve the probs
than the customer going back and telling them
that I found and fixed the problem only to find
out the owner and I went to high school togather
so it all worked out well
I even have gotten phone calles from the factory
techs at chrysler about some of these isues these
vehicles have and how I solved the probs there
techs could not
Now I also get invited to all the factory
traning seminars at chrysler its just a lot of
fun for me they pay traviling expense and feed
a guy prety good, fancy rsturants and anything
on the menue you can have 4 times a year

The best pay I love is a big smile and a happy
customer and a big chewy guwy pizza
I live on the edge of a national forest and a lot
of people go 4 wheeling and get stuck back here
and my house is the first one they come to on
there long walks out
I usualy never take money just tell them to bring
me a good pizza sometime and I get a lot of them
There are alcholics, drug addics I am a
PIZZAHALIC LOL
is there any better food I can think of non LOL
There is a little bar about 5 miles from my house
that has some of the best pizza you will ever run
accros OH SO GOOD
