Here's a good one for you guys. I have a 96' V6 with 110,000 miles. I've replaced a whole lot of things lately but I still have an intermittent problem. The truck has cut off on me twice now. One while turning sharply to pull into a parking space and another time just this morning while trying to make a u-turn. Here's the funny part. It will not crank after these events. It turns over just fine but won't fire a lick. I've had to have it towed both times. Last time, I thought it was repaired when the shop said that the computer was no longer receiving a signal from the crank sensor. They replaced that and it ran fine. Since then, I've had a host of other problems that have resulted in the replacement of the following:

Fuel Pump
O2 Sensors (NGK's)
Camshaft Position Sensor
Battery
Ignition Coil
Plugs/Wires/Distributor Cap/Rotor
PCM

I was hoping that one of these things was the culprit of the original problem. I did have time this morning to swap out the PCM with another that I know works and it still wouldn't fire so I don't believe it is the computer.

I'm now down to feeling like there's a short somewhere that is apparently only showing up when making a sharp turn when the wheel is locked to one side. I don't have the faintest idea on where to start with that one.

Any ideas/help would be appreciated. I've dumped 1200 on this truck in the last few months but I justify it in saying I've had 10 worry-free years driving it up til now. I am however, tired of not reaching my destination.

Check the red wires connection about a foot
behind the relay/fuse box on the drivers side.
It sits above the drivers side front wheelwell.
In the harness, there is a very problamatic connection, i think it is 4 wires.
It left me stranded with your symptoms.

I would first check all the ground wires remove
hit with a little sand paper and reinstall

Than I would unplug all conectors spray with
WD40 than spray with carb or brake clean blow
out with air and plug them back togather if no
air just let the cleaner evap for about 5 min

If still doing it I would suspect a bad splice in
the harnas and those are a real pain to find

what you need to do first is determin what is
losing it and than trace the wires down

Get a haynes manual for about $20 they have the
wire diagrams and splice locations so you atleast
have an idea where to start checking

I have had one where I had to undo the harnas
all the way from the o2 sensor almost all the way
to the computer to find a bad splice on the ground
for the o2 and crank sensor took me like 3 days
to find that Bitch
