As long as it has the 3 wire plug you can use
any RH 1988 to 1995

They were called a 32RH untill 95 than they made
some changes to make them stronger and changed
them to a 42RH

All same 3 speed o/d with lockup

The 36 and 46RH 518 will also bolt up and
work just fine on these you must messure
overall length they had 2 diff tail shaft lengths

I had the exact same problem. The 42RH is nearly impossible to find in a working condition, but I was fortunate enough to find a 46RH from the same year V8 Dakota, so it should be a direct swap.

Although the 36RH or 32RH should work, they don't have overdrive.

You could also use an older TF-727, but you'll most likely need to change the driveshaft and notch the bellhousing for the CPS.

The nomenclature of the newer transmissions are:

Forward Gears = 3 or 4
Strength = 1 to 8
R = RWD (T = FWD)
H = Hydraulic (E = Electric)

Good luck on your search!
Shane

1500 v6 3.9 with a very bad 32rh , i have a 727
from 1982 models in a very excellent condition,
rebuilt recently with Mopar parts. i know it will
fit if i made space for CPS but the question is How
will the 3.9 v6 will run with the 727 trans , May
be it will be too strong for 3.9> i am about to
start swaping if any any one think i will be sorry
to do in the future please tell me
