i just got the GTS blackout covers for myt taillights but my left one is half broke and i can only get 2 contact points and cant afford a new one anytime soon. is there any where to buy brackets or something so its not just sticking on the lens? also does the v8 TB bolt right up to the 3.9?

I don't know about the blackout covers except they aren't street legal in most places. The V8 TB is a direct bolt on, and the sensors are interchangable w/ the V6. The trottle cable may or may not be the same. The cable is a affordable replacement from the dealer(about 40 bucks). You can maybe convert the disk type end to a ball stud end w/ carb parts for Summit or jegs.

The TB change
92 to 95 egr type must use 92 to 95 V8 body

96 and up non egr type use 96 and up body

the sensors are the same but use your V6 sensors
because you know they are good

start let run 1 min shut off do this 3 times and
it will learn its new idle settings

Now 50 miles short term learn 200 miles full
learn for the computer to adjust to the increased
flow if you have a lot of other mods it will take
between 200 to 500 miles to fully compensate for
the increased flow

The average gains from the V8 swap are from 15
to 18hp 20 to 25 torque at the rear wheels

Off idle to around 1600 1800 rpm will be about
the same from there on up you will notice the
gains after a few hundred miles very noticeable
from 2500 to redline very nice gains providing
your o2 sensor, sensors are working properly
this sensor is what tells the computer there is
more air flow and increases the fuel, the first
few times you hit it, it will seam a little doggie
untill the extra fuel is added

If your not sure about the o2 or it has over
60,000 I would replace it ngk,com NTK oem
replacement

A lazy o2 sensor will not show up as well on a
stock motor because it is running so close to the
stock computer tables so close that on a stock
truck you can actualy unplug the o2 and it will
trip a code but still run fairly well on a hevy
modded motor it will run like dog crap no where
near enough fuel

Thats the storie on the swap
Have Fun And Enjoy

I should add

the crank sensor mod
remove sensor slot 3/8" move down towards oil
filter be sure to pull the rubber gromit out of
hole so it will move over this will give you
3 to 4 degree advance

IAT #2 intake runner remove and put a 1/8 NPT
plug in the hole now relocate this sensor no
more than 6" from throttle body in intake tube
or bottom of air cleaner drill 1/2 hole and screw
in sensor does not need to be grounded and it
does not matter wich wire goes where but if you
need to lenghten the wires solder them do not
use conectors on them

This will lower the reading from 180 to 200
degrees to around 120 what this will do reading
colder will add more fuel and advance the timing
1 to 2 degrees

again the o2 must be working properly for these
mods to work corectly

After doing all this put a set of 1 colder NGK
Vpower plugs in FR5
stock ignition
92 to 95 .035
96 up .040
with MSD .055

now you will have some nice hp and torque gains
and also if you keep your foot out of it ya right
I have a problem with that myself but if you
can resist temptation you will get better gas
mileage

I get 24 25mpg summer 20 21 winter 95 4x4 hevily
modified how can you beat that in a 4x4 I have
a friend who just got a chevy colorodo with the
inline 5 cyl and his best on the highway is 22mpg
this a new truck that is suposed to be more fuel
effeciant ya sure it is my 14 year old dakota
with 125,000 miles does better

thx for the input i just got into dakotas but i love them so i dont no jack about hookin them up. i doubt ill be able to keep outta the pedal tho the 6 is slow enough all i got is a cherry bomb and a hollow cat plus its a stick haha so bye bye gas mileage. but i just found out that the factory 3m tape from the blackouts are CHEAP!! i had them on and was worried about the broken lens and the good one ended up just falling off ( tested both yesterday both werent even budging the velcro came off no prob). is there a place to maybe oreder the slide brackets or something more secure than fu**ing adhesive? or any other remedy i work in a shop.
