automatic tranny, i undid the bolt and the nut and the starter moves foward about a half an inch then stops like its snagged on something, i put my other hand up there thinking it was the tranny cooling lines but theres clearance and i cant feel anything that it could be hitting

its loose so i know i didnt forget a bolt or anything, but it still wont move foward anymore, i cant get it down to test/replace it

please help me figure out whats holding it in so i can get this problem fixed!

thanks

have you disconnected the wires from the starter?

the FSM says something about making sure the Trans cooler tube bracket is moved far enough forward to remove the starter from the stud it's mounted on.

the harness and power cable are still connected since they are on top and i cant see how to get them off in that small space, i thought u took the starter out n hold it and undo the wires, thats what my manual says

and i didnt see or feel a bracket for the tans lines, but ill check again, i pulled it as far foward as i could n stuck my hand up there to feel if it was hitting anything and i didnt feel anything touching the starter
