When doing the IAT Mod I noticed that the sensor had a coating of oil. Did the mod and 2 weeks later started to get some valve chatter. Pulled the NPT plug out and it was coated with oil as well. Looked down the Intake Manifold and didn't see any oil pooling.

Is the oil on the sensor and plug a sign that its time to install Plenum reinforcement Kit?

How big of a Job?

Notice same problem w/ my 02' truck at the time had 65,000 now approaching 80,000 I was told should be dry similar to your PCV valve when you pull it out for whatever reason,I was still concerned look and researched for an answer(s) never got good one other than relocate which I did any not much seen on scanner, performance gains notta.Ive replace sensor haven't pulled it out to see condition of it, I let you know if I find in answer. I also see in the field lot manufactures have them installed in various locations and asked advice and got same shouldn't be wet they were thinking I flooded my engine out from trying to start it not the case telling them. And to add plenum in mine was a light coating if oil not wet or major evidence of it leaking. Also left the IAT in its original location till I have a good answer for whats up ??.... enough my babble.....
