Ah, I see you are wondering if I was a marine. My philosophy about how to drive just happens to be the same as their motto.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way

Yeah, I was wondering if you were a Marine. I was a Marine for 17 years and used that motto countless times. It's a good motto live by.

Thank you first Kowalski & Warren for serving our country, I was going to enlist in the first desert storm war in the early 90's stupid mistake listening to my buddies and some family.
Iam happy Dakotadog your mileage is returning back and better than before you will see it trim off or stay steady if everything (sensors) are doing there job which it sounds like.Still consider doing routine basic checks to assure that you get the most of your money and agree sensors are not cheap thats importance of checking as daddio and everyone is posting to help you along with your problem Good Luck...

Kowalski served as a Navy SEMEN.

Anyone that buys a truck and grips about mileage needs to rethink their purchase. If you want mileage buy a compact car.

Thought I was in school still......... say 20+ yrs ago I would understand do now but not needed a little humor helps but better approach of choice of comments for someone you probaly dont even know and not trying to protect privacy by any means, last part bout truck mileage complaints you are right there they should rethink what buy and drive....... and I dont want this to be endless post like others I thought we are trying to help one another out dealing with our trucks instead of our personal life if thats the case?

Again: I bought the truck eight years and 91K miles ago. Things were different back then. It's not like I bought the dang thing last week and I'm complaining. I just want it to be the best it can be, and I'm having a hell of a lot of fun and learning a lot getting it that way. If someone is offended by that, there are plenty of other threads in this forum where they can make positive contributions.

DakotaDog I hope I was not refering to you cause I was not or anyone in specific I sometimes just dont agree with the dry humor we have here but other times I do, we all have great sense of humor when needed but sometimes not at times when no expected. And far as you want your truck to run at its best Iam to one of fussy owners to the minute something the slightest out of tune, mileage, wearing etc... I want to fix it to back what it was or come close to what it was, but I do consider the wear & tear factors in situation at hand and than determined whether to fix or live with on daily basis...

Ok I know sometimes these boards get silly. But in the warm weather with my 5 spd I've been easily in the 20s.(21-23) My truck always ran extremely lean since I had it given to me last December. It got worse so I was looking for a carb when I read how to cut the brown wire from this site (thanks) to give it more performance which counteracted my lean condition. I've also advanced the timing, removed air pump, took air flap out of grill and disconnected the EGR valve. I'd love to get rid of the Cat and put on dual exhuast. Runs awesome, just has the rocker arm tick, but it's getting quieter the more I drive it
