Hmmmm, all this talk about what sounds good and what doesnt. I'll have to agree that no matter what type of exhaust u have, it will still "sound" like a 6. Altho, I havent seen any mention of what anyone thinks about the sound without ANY cat or exhaust on it. My pipe weld broke right infront of the cat and I drove around a few days with nothing but straight exhaust. It was louder en hell, and my neighbors told me about it! That being the case, I think it sounds kinda 8ish, but still a 6. Also, I hear from other sites and a few mechanics that flowmaster makes a really poor quality product. Thats something im not going to waste my money on.

Hey Dan!! I'm telling ya mine sounds like a V8. I still have my cati on there. In Delaware we can't straight pipe the trucks b/c you'll get pulled over by the cops and get a ticket. But mine sounds like a stang all the way up til 5th gear. In 5th gear she ain't so loud but not too many trucks are after they are rolling. But in DE your exhuast has to be under .91 decimals. It's gay!!

From reading these posts it looks to me like the way to go is a 40 series flowmaster or a magnaflow. Now would it be best to go with true duals or is a single all a 3.9 needs? Also I am going to have the cati removed unless it actually hurts the sound of the engine, I dont know y it would but I would just like to have some good input. Thanks Guys

Hey Thraxer and Bad Dak!. Ill believe ure 6 sounds like an 8...what i said was just a matter of opinion. I put in an order for a Ravin exhaust and will know in a few hours when they want me to bring my truck in. Thraxer....In speaking with the tech yesterday, he said theres nothing wrong with flowmaster, but I still have my reservations. Instead, he said Dynomax is cheezy and I heard they are good. lmao Thats it, im not trusting anyones recomendations anymore. Ill just have to find out for myself. About the cat..DONT REMOVE IT! Unless u have a 1st gen engine, dont do it, even then I still dont think its recomended. Ull screw up the computer settings and loose torque big time, but who says anyone has to listen to me. BTW, i did have that pipe fixed, only drove with straight pipe for 2 days till i could get cross town to get it welded. U need some backpressure in the V6, its designed that way...to keep the valves from slamming shut, and it keeps compression high. What do u want, sound or power? Take care u 2.
