You'd probably be better off going to ebay Motors and getting a reman'd 3.9 for $995 and saving the headache.

I would have but I was told the trans would not work, so I pulled it out and already have the bottom end torn down. I figured I could do the rebuild myself. Any other suggestions.

Guy, it may be cheaper to have a machine shop regrind the one you have, or exchange it for one that has been reground. Check the machine shops in your area for cost and if they have one or will regrind yours.

Thanks for the help. I talked to a guy here in town at a different store. He set me up with a reman crank and bearings to match for under $200.00. Since the motor is out I am going to replace the timing chain, and also the clutch and trowout on the trans. Does anyone have any other suggestions about some other parts? Thanks.
