if you swapped your sensors from your old TB you might have knocked the idle air control valve out of adjustment. try un hooking your battery for 15-20 seconds with the ignition on, this will reset the computer amd will make the computer relearn everything. this could fix your prob. also just for the info, a 5.2 tb and a 5.9 are the same size.

NO!!! Don't do it with the ignition on. That could reset the computer so that the charging voltage is at zero. No charging afterwards.

Here is the right way to reset the battery. With the ignition off.reset PCM

Had the same exact problem. I changed out my Throttle Body and encountered the same problem. After a dealer mechanic looking at it (and not having a clue) and changing every sensor known to man, it ended up being a vacuum leak. It could be a vacuum leak in your belly pan in the intake manifold but for me it was a plug that came off of the intake. It was sucking air. I plugged it and the problem went away and never returned. I have a 98. Soon to put on headers. Yeah, the bellypan gasket is on the underside of the intake manifold. Some people get leaks from there. Bernd could tell you more about that. I haven't had to change that. Are you sure there isn't any hoses or the two lines in the middle of the intake that might not be plugged? Most people have the leaks come from there. I'd check every hose that uses a vacuum before having to take off the intake manifold. Or just change them all out anyway. Mods I've done... Fabtech 3inch lift kit, 48mm throttle body, K&N FIPT intake, MSD coil and offroad box. Jet stage II chip, and undersize pulley. Along with a few other goodies I can't think of right now. Hope you get it fixed. Greg

could it be cause i have a hole/crack in my throttlebody gasket? Could that be why it runs to 3000 rpms when i try to rev it?

I believe your suppose to use a new gasket for that. Also did you take out your Idle Control valve and clean it. It gets dirty quick and if it isn't seating correctly it'll leak. Other things that it might be is your brake booster line. If it isn't seated right on the booster it'll leak also. What did you do to this engine exactly. Sounds like you overhauled it if you took the heads off. Greg
