ah ha, the '92-'93's had the larger exhaust manifolds too. thats why they were rated @ 180hp instead of 175hp as all years after that. i have also read that the cam in the '92-'93 was a little hotter than the rest of the magnum 3.9's.

any1 tell me where the muffler is located? like how far foward or back it is? its been kind of cold so i havent been able to look

i was thinkin if its 2 far back, id have to cut it off closer 2 the car so when i put the new 1 in and fail pipes, the tailpipes can come out infront of the rear wheels

if its 2 far back, the only way 2 get the tailpipes 2 exit where i want them, id have 2 have them do like a complete u-turn then turn them out the sides

will cutting the muffler off and putting a new 1 on closer to the cat if needed make me lose power?

its close to the rear axle. if you have room you could move it up closer to the cat but i don't think it would fit under the cab.

and how will you get around the fuel tank on the drivers side? it starts right in front of the rear axle.

thats why i wanted it closer 2 the front, i wouldnt be able to get it out both sides if i just replaced the muffler, id have 2 move it closer 2 the cat, but i havent bought the muffler yet, ima check to see if i have room and see if the set up will work

worse case senario, i only have 1 tailpipe, if thats the case, ill just put in a new muffler and 4get about the fancy tailpipe deal, or take it 2 the muffler shot and ask them for advice and ideas

I just redid my exhaust tail pipe on Saturday. I took the tail pipe off and removed the muffler and the pipe between the cat and the muffler. I shortened the pipe between the cat and the muffler and put the muffler under the Cab. The muffler is a flow master super 40 2 1/2 in 2 1/2 out it fit just fine with about an inch of clearance between the cab and the top of the muffler. Then I redid my tail pipe to go up over the frame and come out just before the rear tire. It was a bit of a bitch to rework the tail pipe but there is room to do it. You can run the tail pipe over the frame between the riser for the bed and where the frame goes up over the axel. When the tail pipe comes down the outside of the frame I ran it right down the spring hanger. It worked just fine and it looks good to. I dont know if it helps free up some power or not but I like it.

I say go for it and good luck.

One more thing, I recycled my old tail pipe, I cut it up and refitted the bends to fit it took a while so give yourself plenty of time. The tail pipe is made of stainless steel so trying to use a tail pipe expander was a joke so I ended up using fittings. So unless you have a pneumatic pipe expander I would just plain on using fittings and clamps.

ur right about the adapters, ive tried it and i gave up on it totally, which is y i figure the only stock part ima use, is the cat foward, new muffler n tailpipes, just less hassle, ima assemble it all after i have it all measures and lines up, then connect the muffler to the pipe to the cat, only thing ima screw with
