i have a 1994 dakota with a 3.9L but i was wondering if rims from a 02 style dakota is the same bolt pattern as mine is

don't know but the '02's are 6 lug on 4.5" circle.

I'm 99.9% sure that the rims off any dakota/durango from '92-'04 are interchangeable, as they all have the bolt pattern that daddio mentioned. Actually, if you have the extra dough and want a really badass look, you can even use the front rims off of a dodge Viper (back rims are too wide...unless you want to do a little tubbing!). Starting around the '97 models (I think), 8" side rims were offered, as were slightly larger diameters. So, if you want to use the tires on your old rims, make sure you get a set of rims that are the same size.

Be careful when putting wheels from a 97 onto a 92.
Even with 1/8" spacers behind the wheel clip-on type wheel weights will hit the tip of the upper control arm.
I had to grind it down for the wheel weights to clear, not to mention rebalancing the tires.

Some have also reported having to do minor grinding on the heads of the caliper bolts to fit newer rims on the older trucks.
