This truck is really starting to piss me off now. One thing after another but now it seems it likes to backfire when the choke is on. After i let the truck warm up its fine but when driving around for the first bit whenever i switch gears the truck will backfireat 2000RPM. Anything anyone would know that would cause this. Sensor or to reset the choke so it doesnt run as rich at first? Oh ya new timing chain less then 5000miles so i know the timing isnt out any ideas

you do not have a choke backfire is from lean not rich, try a new o2 sensor that fixed mine, good luck

Are you throwing any codes?

Turn ignition on, off, on, off, and back to the on position really quickly and see if it gives you any codes.

I don't think the O2 sensor readings come into play until the truck goes into closed loop...

Could be plenum gasket...but I'm not sure why it'd only do that while cold and not all the time.

GB2000 is right. the PCM doesn't use the O2 until the engines warmed enough to go to closed loop.

could be the engine coolant temp sensor going out. or maybe just a bad connection on it?

sounds more like a cros fire bad cap or wires

or posible valve going bad from running lean
once warm it don't leak

a lifter pumping up can also cause that run some
sea foam for a few miles than change oil

check it

run it while still poping shut it down and pull
the plugs and see what they look like to determin
which cyl is doing it and go from there
