I think my oil pressure sending unit may be going bad. It doesn't always read right, and I'd like to have a better voltage gauge in my truck than the OE one. I think that one is only an ammeter anyway.

Is it possible to an add aftermarket Oil Pressure gauge without sending the PCM into a hissy fit? I know I can just tap into 12 volts and ground to add a voltage gauge. Does anyone know if there is an empty threaded port somewhere on the block to screw in the sending unit for an aftermarket oil pressure gauge?

Thanks,

Jimmy

just use a nipple and a tee at the current connection.

Don't run 12 volt + From any 12 vold you want. To be accurate, you need to hook the positive wire to the positive wire on the alternator.

Thanks Daddio. Seems I remember putting in some gauges years ago that came with fittings to make t type connections. Will take a look at the parts store. Thanks again.

Thanks for the help. Oil pressure gauge seems to be working right again. I will take off the connector and make sure it's all clean but other than that I'm going to leave well enough alone for now. Truck has been fine with its original battery gauge too, so will probably not add any volt gauge either.

Thanks again,

Jimmy

"I think that one is only an ammeter anyway." ??? Chrysler hasn't used ammeters since the late 70s or early 80s. Ammeters measure amps, voltmeters measure volts. DUH.
