Subject: Muffler Pipe Question

I have a 95 3.9 v6 dak how big is a stock muffler pipe? would a two and a half inch pipe be ok? Or would it be to big I know it ain't two and a half stock

I think the stock size is either 2, or 2 1/4, and no 2 1/2 is not too big, in fact if you went from the Y pipe to the tail pipe it would be just right, at least it is on my 1988 3.9.
I had to replace the cat, I used a universal 2 1/2 in/out and 2 1/2 all the way from the Y to the tail pipe all stock location. The Y pipe on mine was 2 1/4 I had a shop step it up to the 2.5.

thanks guys and its ok to run just the pipe without a fresh air kit on the throttle body its ok to run the stock one i will get one soon but i already put the 2 and a half pipe from the y pipe back i was just wondering if it was ok i put one of those little adapters from the y to the 2 and a half

Hey guys, mine was 2 1/4 from the exhaust manifolds to the cat, but mine is an 88, that might be the difference. Now I know the newer ones use the bigger pipe. Thanks for your help in knowing something new.
