I was under the hood today and pulled off my old oil pressure sending unit cause i was getting some bad readings even in the middle of winter when the oil should be thicker. And found that the casing was broken so i went and got a brand new one from Napa for 40 bucks but heres the thing. The old gauge used to go to just above half way on the guage then drop down to just above 1/4 at idle when warm. The new gauge goes to 3/4 on the gauge and when warm at idle drops down to maybe 9/16 on the gauge should i trust this new oil sending unit or has anyone had problems with a Napa sending unit before and no i do not have access to a manual oil gauge to test the system correctly

These electric gauges are not accurate as a rule. My 99 dak runs exactly as your new one and has sense new. The gauge basically tells you that there is adequate oiling going on. your old radical gauge wasn't getting the job done no more.

The sensors tend to drift low on their readings over time. So you are back where you should be.

Epyon, you will have to add some line to install a mechanical gauge, you can't just do away with the electric sending unit, it also suppies power to the fuel pump.
if you put in a "T" fitting then you can have both.
Good Luck
